This is the question we are asked most. The short answer: it depends on whether you want to graduate sooner or settle sooner.
Course length
A UK master’s is usually one year; a Canadian one is one to two. That year of difference is a year of tuition and living costs saved — and a year earlier into the job market.
Cost
UK tuition typically runs £12,000–£28,000 and Canada C$15,000–C$35,000. Because the UK course is shorter, the total often comes out lower.
After graduation
The UK offers a two-year Graduate Route. Canada offers a post-graduation work permit of up to three years — and, more importantly, that work experience converts directly into permanent-residency points.
Work rights while studying
The UK allows 20 hours a week; Canada allows 24.
The short version
If you want a fast degree and a global job market, the UK. If your goal is residency, Canada has the clearer pathway.
